This resort has an incredible location, nestled in stunning natural beauty, but the accommodations I encountered were far from ideal. Due to cleanliness issues and a lack of basic amenities, my stay was quite disappointing. While the staff tried their best, the overall condition of the resort needs improvement to be recommended.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was filthy and not properly maintained, which made for a very uncomfortable experience.
Service
5.0
The staff at the reception were apologetic but didn't offer any practical solutions for the room situation.
Location
8.0
The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature and excellent for exploration, but the state of the resort is a real letdown.
Dining
7.0
The food during lunch was surprisingly good and fresh, even if the dining area had its downsides.
Facilities
5.0
The premises felt more like a construction zone than a resort, with rubbish scattered everywhere, which detracted from any potential enjoyment.

We had a pleasant stay at this campsite, which is ideally located near stunning gorges and less trafficked roads. The scenery was beautiful, and the restaurant served decent food at reasonable prices. However, some amenities were lacking, particularly the older shower blocks which could use a refresh. While we appreciated the new amenities block, the campsite could do with more spacious spots for larger setups. Overall, it’s a solid choice for an outback experience.

My stay at Glen Helen Gorge Homestead Lodge was a mixed bag. On one hand, the natural beauty surrounding the lodge is simply breathtaking, making for a memorable experience, especially at sunset. However, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of our room, which really overshadowed some of the positives. The food at the restaurant was excellent, and it’s a great spot for families seeking an authentic outback experience, but the noise from the generator was bothersome.

Rooms
5.0
Our room was somewhat dirty and needed better housekeeping. The noise from the generator nearby made it less comfortable, and the decor felt outdated.
Service
8.0
The staff was very helpful and friendly, which truly made a difference during our stay.
Location
9.0
The lodge is located in a stunning area by the Finke River, surrounded by the majestic West Mac Donnell Ranges.
Dining
7.0
The food in the restaurant was delicious, though the wait time to place an order was a bit frustrating.
Facilities
6.0
The campground facilities were decent, making it a solid choice for an outdoor experience. However, the proximity to other campers can be a downside for some.

The resort boasts stunning views with a beautiful waterhole and a very nice restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by persistent unpleasant odors coming from the septic system. While the location is fantastic for nature lovers, the management needs to improve maintenance to match the appealing surroundings.

Rooms
7.0
I didn't stay in a room but the campsite had some lovely views and access to great walking trails.
Service
6.0
The team appeared to care about their guests but seemed overwhelmed by the ongoing maintenance issues.
Location
9.0
The resort is ideally located beside a beautiful waterhole, offering amazing scenery and access to nature.
Dining
8.0
The restaurant served beautifully presented meals and the dining experience was pleasant despite the issues elsewhere.
Facilities
5.0
While there were nice updates and upkeep in the common areas, the septic problem was significant and really affected my overall experience.

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Glen Helen Gorge Homestead Lodge and Campground. The stunning views and outdoor dining atmosphere were truly breathtaking, especially during sunset. However, the campground facilities left much to be desired, with limited cleanliness and a lack of shade. Overall, while the natural beauty is impressive, the campground needs significant improvements to be more comfortable.

Rooms
5.0
The campground sites were quite small and lacked proper shade. I found them close to neighbors, which wasn’t ideal for my stay.
Service
6.0
The service was satisfactory, though the facilities could use better maintenance and more support during busy days.
Location
9.0
The location by the Finke River was fantastic, offering breathtaking views of the cliffs and a serene atmosphere.
Dining
8.0
Dining outdoors while overlooking the river was magical. The food was quite good, though I wished for a few more vegetables in my meal.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were in need of an upgrade. The shower and toilet setup was not sufficient for the campground's capacity, and cleanliness was often lacking.
